James Kearney III

James Kearney III (Jim) is the Global Chief Risk Officer at BNY Mellon | Pershing and member of the Executive Committee. Jim leads risk professionals around the world and serves as Chairman of the Senior Risk and Control Committee and a member of the Global Credit and Market Risk Committee and the Resiliency Steering Committee.

Jim brings to BNY Mellon extensive experience in risk leadership and trading. Prior to joining the firm, Jim served as chief risk officer at Wedbush Securities, Inc. He also holds industry leadership roles on the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) Chief Risk Officer Roundtable and the Chief Credit Officer Roundtable. 

Jim earned a Bachelor of Business Administration for the University of Iowa, majoring in Finance. He also completed the Securities Industry Institute program, sponsored by SIFMA, at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
